Pricey, but nothing special...

For what little you get, this anthology is OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced. There is absolutely nothing in it by way of musical examples that would not be available on-line in the public domain, with either the same or similar cuts. What this amounts to is a shameful "crutch" for LAZY (or ignorant) jazz instructors to lean upon in lieu of doing their own research and putting together their own collection of teaching materials. In fact, the ratio of cost to value is so skewed, a suspicion arises there may be some kind of kick-back scheme to reward the instructors who require their captive students to buy the anthology, and thereby also buy into the scam. I don't know. I can only wonder. And while I am wondering, I will also ponder why enterprising students don't use their intelligence to figure out how to share the materials, all legally and [of course] without copyright infringement.
