This is an exciting book that young and old, Black and White, executive and mailroom, or Blue collar and white collar workers can truly enjoy. It's great for a visual age like ours as it's full of page after page of lovely pictures and easily written so that it's user friendly and bursting with intrigue for all ages.

"The Race" kind of grows on you as you read it again and again. It's a great night time story for adults and children. Or find yourself reading it as an eye opener at a Boardroom meeting with executives.

Dee Groberg & Mac Anderson deserve a lot of credit for putting together this most informative book. It deals with a story all of us can relate to about being involved in a Race. You can learn some very important lessons from this book full of paradox and awesome ambiguity. Adults loved it and I've personally read it to over 55 children I mentor who all throught it was the bomb! You'll find it very thought provoking and worthy of giving to countless friends as a gift...it's cheaper than a McDonald's or Starbucks gift card with a longer shelf life less calories and no aftertaste. But please don't believe a word I'm saying get it and read it for yourself! I liked it so I'm giving it away.

I had ordered two books earlier and loved them. I wanted to order more for my family that are having some struggles or are in leadership positions at their jobs and at the church we go to. I recommend the books to all. When you have fallen at sometime in your life, this book will help to lift you up.
I ordered five from one source, and four from another source on Amazon. I received the five, but didn't get the four. I have emailed them to get the other four. I haven't heard from them. I have already been charged on my credit card for both orders. I am waiting for a response. After a week, I have heard nothing.

"How to be obnoxious and pushy in thirty days or less"

This book is an obvious self-promotional vehicle for the author and has a total lack of any practical advice for the reader. Reading it is difficult, as it is filled with really obnoxious all caps and italicized words, seemingly intended to "energize" her "advertising copy" style of writing.
I found the author to be a very selfish and pushy person. Her advice centers around trying to get ahead of people in order to have a personal assistant to treat as a slave, and to impress others with your important job. This is a very short term and shallow idea of success, and I think it is almost dangerous to advise people to have that kind of attitude. Having encountered such people in the workplace, I saw them experience some limited success, but also alienate others and ultimately be quite miserable.
I'm also skeptical of her credentials- she claims she has several tv shows in "development" (This is the purgatory of television, and really means nothing) and is a freelance writer, but besides making a lot of money, she doesn't seem to have too many tangible accomplishments. I suppose that is the curse of self-help books though, no one with real success is likely to write books like this. In a nutshell, I strongly disliked this book, and I think it has limited use for anyone.

Boost in the Arm!

its not that the advice is earth shatteringly new...its not. But is the first book that I have read that has positively addressed the issues that women face in business. I love that it is a book of empowerment for women as opposed to a bitch session about how rough we have it. I love this book. One of my very favorite quotes is actually a recommended mantra...whenever you think you have made the most horrible business mistake in the world, repeat yourself "John Travolta is back. John Travolta is back". Clearly John Travolta has made some disasterous career decisions...but he is back. We too can make it back from any mistake.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK and have given to several friends.

About the Author
Slobodan Jovanovic is an experienced trader of non-ferrous and precious metals. Born and educated in Belgrade, his business career started in 1980 at Invest Import, one of the largest export and import companies in former Yugoslavia. He was the first to conclude "Trepca" silver bullions export deals with Philipp Brothers of London, and Intermercur in Zurich. During this period he also became very familiar with hedging concepts and strategies and developed a keen interest in the field of derivatives trading and hedging concepts. In 1995 he moved to Athens to organise a sales network for another Serbian company and the following year he joined the Mytilineos group of companies, one of the largest non-ferrous traders in South-East Europe. He was promoted and helped conclude the deal with RHMK "Trepca," which was the largest foreign investment in Serbia at that time. In the same period he paved the way for yet another big investment scheme - the strategic alliance between Mytilineos Co. and Bor that resulted in the $1 billion "General Cooperation Agreement" deal. In terms of value, scope and duration this deal dwarfed any previous investment of a single private company in South-East Europe and was immediately labelled by the press as "The Deal of the Century". Additionally, Jovanovic's work has included the execution of complex business activities related primarily to copper trading, concentrates tolling and cathodes exports. In the course of his professional career he traded non-ferrous metals with some of the most recognised companiesin that field, such as Trafigura, Mark Rich, Glencore, Rusal, Umicore and Norddeutschen Affineire (now Aurubis). Jovanovic became a freelance hedging instructor in 2009. He runs coordination and consultation with intermediaries mainly engaged in non-ferrous metals and the cable industry interested in implementing hedging solutions in their day-to-day operations. Presently, he is engaged in designing short educational seminars on derivatives markets and hedging concepts in real-time context for the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. This is his first book on derivatives trading, commodities futures and options strategies seen from the trader's viewpoint.

Must read

I agree with SW, this is one of the best books around.
The first quarter of the book is about actual hedging (ex. a bakery buying wheat futures to protect its costs.).
The second quarter is an intro to options (but in great detail).
The third quarter is about option pricing (Black-scholes, etc.).
The fourth quarter is a detailed description of almost every option strategy known to man. All the common ones plus strips, straps, collars fences, conversions and many more.
The writing is clear, the charts are clear and detailed, with examples. It is actually about commodity options, unlike some books I could mention. There are interesting insets about related topics. I didn't find any typos, which seems rare these days. This book is a large paperback, and there is a lot in it.
This is a pretty fabulous book and I would call it a must read for anyone who trades commodity options.
