Bart D. Ehrman is the James A. Gray Distinguished Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has written or edited more than twenty-five books, including Forgery and Counterforgery (2013), The New Testament, Fifth Edition (2012), and The Orthodox Corruption of Scripture, Second Edition (2011), all published by Oxford University Press.

The Bible According to Bart

This is designed as a textbook for a 1 semester freshman-level course on the Bible. For that reason, it's by no means exhaustive or overly opinionated. Instead, it just does a great job of summarising the books of the Bible (their content, history and interpretations), as well as introducing some of the modern scholarly thoughts, debates and controversies regarding them. As a textbook, it also asks the reader many thought provoking questions throughout that help point to further areas of study. The book is written through the lens of the critical-historian, not through the lens of any particular Bible-based faith. Ehrman has always ad a knack at communicating, what can be in lesser hands, rather dull material in an engaging and to-the-point way. Highly recommended for anyone who is new to Biblical studies.

accessible, clearly written, well organized, well documented

While I am not a Biblical scholar or academician, I find Dr. Ehrman's text t be extremely accessible, clearly written, well organized, and well-documented. I have long been a fan of Dr. Ehman's books and have read each one. I recently was looking for a good historical introduction to the Bible that dealt with authorship, manuscripts, the historical context, and that wasn't too technical or promoting a religious or denominational perspective. Dr. Ehrman has provide dall that in this book. I would think this would be an excellent reference book for any student of the Bible - whether in a college class - or just as a person of taith.

This book is very readable and well planned for learning about and understanding the Bible.
Most books about the Bible do not cover the truth of how it was written and by whom. I have
purchased other books by Professor Bart Ehrman and I always found them very interesting
and readable for a non scholar like myself.

This book is such a breath of fresh air. Abosultlely full of great tips and awesome advice that i can actually fit into my life.
Great food and nutrition tips, stress management., work outs i can do at home. AND it treats me like an actual normal human being.
Can't recommend highly enough, i feel like this book has changed my life already!
And i'm getting Jennifer Lawrence's personal trainer - so that cant be bad!

I received this book along with beizi corrector as a gift from my friend. I must say that this combo is a real find. What a great entrance point to healthy lifestyle, better posture and feeling good. Hopefully I will be hooked by this inspirational book's tips and posture routines for as long as possible - I really love my past few weeks!

This review is coming from a diet addict

This review is coming from a diet addict. Some one who's tried EVERYTHING and ANYTHING just to stop those diets and gain it all back PLUS SOME. It took 10 years for me to realize that fad diets DO NOT WORK. Sure, you'll lose 5 pounds in one week, but it is unrealistic to think you won't gain the weight back once you stop that diet. Let me just say that this book is NOT ABOUT A DIET, which is why I love it. Small/realistic changes = long term success. The authors are not asking you to start a crazy diet or workout 3 hours a day, or give up your favorite food. They are setting you up to make healthier choices and to listen to your body. How many of us eat because we are bored? I know I do. I think of food as a reward, and it is horrible for me. This book encourages you to stop and think about what you are about to eat and the reasoning behind it. I am flying through this book because I find it so interesting and helpful, but I plan to re-read it and take notes. Also, this is not a cookbook, so I am not sure why people are complaining about the lack of recipes? They do include some, but not as many as a cookbook would. If your looking for guidance on how to change your life and be a healthier person overall... this is the book for you.

About the Author
Dr. Jeff Strickler started skiing at age five and the passion has continued. He raced in high school and college on the 250" hills of his home state of Minnesota, but learned big mountain skiing on family vacations in Aspen and Sun Valley. A year as an exchange student to Austria in 1960 was followed by a three month sojourn in 1969 just skiing the Alps. After a residency in pediatrics at Stanford University, and a bit of military duty in Alaska, he established a practice in Helena, MT in 1975 and has skied Big Sky ever since. Dr. Jeff and his wife, Karen, have owned several condos in the area, but bought their Meadow Village home in 1993. They moved to Big Sky full time upon his retirement in 2005. Tall, dressed in black, and seldom slow, he can be seen on the slopes or cross country trails most every day of the season.

A Great Book for the History of the Runs

I purchased this book hoping it would go into depth about the resort and how it named the runs. I cannot be happier that I got it. This book is an excellent (and very inexpensive) resource for those who love the mountain.

The reason I took away one star is the occasional mistake in the book. These are pretty minor, like a missing period here, an outdated or incorrect number there (like the top of Lone Peak being 11,144 feet when it is really 11,166 feet.)

Otherwise, if you're a big fan of Big Sky, Moonlight Basin, or the area in general, please do yourself a favor and get this book. It is great!

Excellent, excellent book!! Incredible insight, great application, very helpful appendix handouts, and thought provoking! I recommend this book to any and every husband who desires to be the husband God has called him to be!! Priolo writes in such an easy-to-read book that you will want to finish the book in one reading. Excellent book!

Priolo uses tons of Scripture references and quotes to support what he writes with authority--authority of God's perfect Word!

About the Author
T I Wade was born in Bromley, Kent, England in 1954. His father, a banker was promoted with his International Bank to Africa and the young family moved to Africa in 1956. The author grew up in Southern Rhodesia. Once he had completed his mandatory military commitments, at 21 he left Africa to mature in Europe. He enjoyed Europe and lived in three countries; England, Germany and Portugal for 15 years before returning to Africa; Cape Town in 1989. Here the author owned and ran a restaurant, a coffee manufacturing and retail business, flew a Cessna 210 around desolate southern Africa and finally got married in 1992. Due to the upheavals of the political turmoil in South Africa, the Wade family of three moved to the United States in 1996. Park City, Utah was where his writing career began. To date T I Wade has written seven novels. The Author, his wife and two teenage children currently live 20 miles south of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Sorry to See the Series End

In this series, we have seen a lot of action but the fourth book in the series improves on this. The two major battle scenes in the book involve a huge fight between our heroes and the South American army that was gathering forces in book 3. Like the other books, the action is well paced and easy to follow as the POV shifts around the battleground bouncing from Latin American warlords, to pilots in the sky, to the forces on the ground. At the risk of spoiling too much, I was surprised to see some of our favorite characters come to an end in this series.

The second battle takes place between our heroes once again and an army formed by a Monsanto-like seed company and big pharmaceutical companies.

Also like the former books, there is a lot of detail as the government begins to reform and plans are put in place to save more people with food and resources. At times the level of detail is enormous, but I enjoy books written in this way.

If you have read books 1-3 you have to pick this one up!

Great series.

I almost quit reading book one... some parts were more technical than I like. So very glad I didn't. This series is exciting, the characters are believable, but most of all this is possible. Maybe or maybe not exactly as written but the possibility of America establishing herself as a country with many problems and problems world wide is. Can't wait to start the next books that take place around the world.

This series of books are very good and also very scary in that 99% of things that we consume in America is from China. Eventually we will have to fight Chinese house to house if they want to take over America.
