About the Author
S. Christian Albright received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Stanford in 1968 and his Ph.D. in operations research from Stanford in 1972. Since then, he has been teaching in the Operations and Decision Technologies Department in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He has taught courses in management science, computer simulation, and statistics to all levels of business students: undergraduates, MBAs, and doctoral students. His current interest is in spreadsheet modeling, including development of VBA applications in Excel. Dr. Albright has published more than 20 articles in leading operations research journals in the area of applied probability. He has also published a number of successful textbooks, including DATA ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING, DATA ANALYSIS FOR MANAGERS, and SPREADSHEET MODELING AND APPLICATIONS.

Wayne L. Winston is Professor of Operations and Decision Technologies in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where he has taught since 1975. Wayne received his B.S. degree in Mathematics from MIT and his Ph.D. degree in Operations Research from Yale. He has written the successful textbooks OPERATIONS RESEARCH: APPLICATIONS AND ALGORITHMS, MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING: APPLICATIONS AND ALGORITHMS, SIMULATION MODELING WITH @RISK, PRATICAL MANAGEMENT SCIENCE, DATA ANALYSIS FOR MANAGERS, SPREADSHEET MODELING AND APPLICATIONS, AND FINANCIAL MODELS USING SIMULATION AND OPTIMIZATION. Wayne has published over 20 articles in leading journals and has won many teaching awards, including the school-wide MBA award four times. His current interest is in showing how spreadsheet models can be used to solve business problems in all disciplines, particularly in finance and marketing.

Great Book, not what I expected

I bought the solution manual for this book, and found very good, to the point and description descriptions which were very application to the book I was using. I decided to buy the textbook it referred to, and while the book came well packaged and promptly, it was not exactly as I expected. The topics covered did not cover the array of problems I expected, but never the less were very thorough. The topics I was looking for were Flow Modeling, DEA and indepth Duality. Duality was briefly mentioned, but to even less detail than the text I had for my Management Science class.

Henri Bergson (1859-1941) was one of the most important philosophical figures of the earlier twentieth-century, a cult figure in his day and a profound influence on such thinkers and writers as William James, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Gilles Deleuze. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1927.

This is a great book and really a necessary reference for anyone interested in mineralogy and crystallography. However, my copy did not ship with advertised CD. Otherwise, it would have received 5 stars.

Be careful

Be careful when you order this book. There is supposed to be a CD that goes with it.

When purchased via Amazon, the CD is not included because the publisher (The Mineralogical Society of Great Britain) does a special on-demand order for Amazon but minus the CD.

You can, however, request the CD for your Amazon purchase by contacting the Society at admin@minersoc.org. Alternatively the book, with CD, may be purchased directly from the Society. Check their website.

As an aside, this text is meant for a university audience or anyone interested in advanced metamorphic petrogenesis.

This final edition by the original authors, although no longer a handbook, was a pleasant surprise in terms of its colourful illustrations, up-dated data, and inclusive CD. It will be a great help for students of mineral optics and metamorphic petrogenesis. A must-have reference.

Excellent book for Modellers

This book contains a brief history of the Me 262 and a break-down of each version of the aircraft, including those versions not actually produced. Although not as extensive as the four volume Smith & Creek books from Classic Publications, it contains something these books do not. A couple chapters for the modeller. To me, the most impressive section is "Chapter 7: Building a Collection" which details each of the significant versions of the aircraft by showing the differences of each version to a preceding version. This is the section available in the early Modellers Datafiles (by Sam Publications), but sorely missed in the later books (I wish they would bring them back). It also specifies which model kit is best for each version.
Overall,it is a great book for modellers.

You can't go wrong with the Me 262

Back in the 1980s when TV miniseries were all the rage, networks had an adage: "You can't go wrong with the Civil War." If there was a similar adage for aviation publishers surely it would be: "You can't go wrong with the Me 262." One of the strengths of the present volume is the very comprehensive bibliography of published works dealing with the type. It lists over 130 books and although not every one is devoted exclusively to the Me 262 it is still an impressive number.

The book is a standard 8-1/2" x 11", 112 page, card cover. It is the first in a new "Airframe and Miniature" series and indeed the book is divided into Airframe chapters and Miniature chapters. The Airframe chapters trace the Me 262 through the "V" prototypes, the pre-production "S" series, the production "A" series, and the "B" and "C" and unbuilt projects. It concludes with a short chapter on camouflage and markings and 8 pages of color profiles. The emphasis is squarely on appearance throughout. The chapters are supplemented by black and white photos and profile line drawings.

There are three Miniature chapters. The first deals with the available kits in all three popular scales. The second is the feature which distinguishes the book from others on the Me 262. There are 11 pages of perspective drawings that show the differences of virtually every Me 262 subtype including prototypes. The section concludes with a long chapter filled with color photos of preserved examples supplemented with contemporary technical drawings.

The book is aimed primarily at the modeler although the general enthusiast will find much to his liking. It's a decent substitute for the more expensive books on the Me 262 but it does not really offer anything new. Recommended.

An intense Kettle Bell 4 week program

Scott Lardella, of RDella Training, has written a good, challenging 4 week KB program based on double KB versions of cleans, presses, front squats, push presses, renegade rows, snatches, swings, clean and squats, long cycle clean and press (may substitute jerks). The program is low in reps (5-10) for a KB program, but adds plenty of volume with rounds. Scott intends for each "round" of exercises from 2 to 5 per session, to be done as a complex, i.e. without rest between exercises, but 1 - 3 minutes rest between rounds. This makes the program a beast.

Scott provides excellent guidance as to the fact this is an intermediate to advanced program, without instruction or pictures in the exercises. And that this is not for beginners. Scott wants you to choose a KB weight at which you will be to comfortably do 5 reps of each of the exercises (not 5 rep max) before starting, and that is good advice. Scott adds some basic nutrition and supplement advice to the book. Scott does have suggestions for beginners and those not yet comfortable with the exercises that make sense. He does state that the program could be done with a single KB, doing the same numbers of reps on each side, but that the results will be different.

This is not a KB instruction manual, nor a beginners guide to the KB. This is just what is advertised - one, 4 week intense KB program. And as such it is very good.

Unrelenting and Efficient

This is one of the first publications from the ranks of Pavel Tsatsouline's new StrongFirst Certified instructors. It is top notch work. For $2.99 this is a steal. I have been working with KBs for about 7 years and this is one of the best programs I've seen in a while.

Great book! I actually do GS style (and as ...

Great book! I actually do GS style (and as a woman compete with one bell), but I find that double kettlebell work REALLY helps with my single kettlebell work. I do the book as written and do it with hardstyle technique as opposed to how I lift when I train my competition lifts. I am used to putting up reps close to the 50's- 100's doing GS with a lighter bell, but there is a time and place to pick up a heavier bell (or shall I say BELLS!) and just do 5-10 reps. I find the double bell work has great carryover and my single bell is feeling lighter! Whoo hoo! The workouts look simple on paper but trust me, don't mistake simple for easy. It's challenging and it works. I will be buying everything Scott Iardella writes from here on out. I am a fan!! Purchasing this is a nobrainer. Inexpensive and a great program to follow. Buy it -you won't be sorry. But you will be stronger!

The urge to get on a plane

This is an amazing book about travelling and all the awkward, funny and cool situations you might get into while being out there. I recommend it to everyone having traveled and everyone who wants to travel around the world. You'll stop whatever you're doing and feel the urge to book a flight to a random spot on earth you haven't been to. Thumbs up, I'm waiting for part 2.

If you want to read a book that has it all,this is the book for you! It is sad in parts and hilarious in other parts.
I'm glad my daughter recommended it to me. Now I cant wait to read 'bible for breakfast'. Also waiting with baited breath for volume 2 of last clean shirt! More please! Great work David Hughes. I really cant believe it was only $2.99 what a bargain!

This book is irreverent, thought-provoking and genuinely funny! Last Clean Shirt made me want to ditch the husband, the kids, and the country club membership and strike out on a journey of my own. Kudos to David Hughes for following his convictions and living on his own terms, and here's to wanderlust. Can't wait to read more from this off-color, hilarious author.

Awesome sequel!

Once again Bruce writes a riveting account of the day leading up to "The day of the Lord" and after. Through his eloquent storytelling, he makes the prophetic passages out of the Bible come to life. This sequel to "The god-man, seed of Satan" continues where the story left off taking the reader to the glorious return of our Savior. With the times we are living in, both books are a MUST READ.

Great novel!

This is a fast paced novel filled with plausible end-times scenarios. Often times there is a lot of 'fluff' in novels that I can hardly wait to wade through...not so in Bruce Billers writing...the novel progresses so fast, at times, I can 'feel' the urgency of his message. It is interesting enough to capture the imagination of any reader, a believer in God's Word, or not. I gave it four out of five stars, because there were several places where there was a build up, an anticipation of what would happen next, that ultimately let me down. I have enjoyed both of Bruce Biller's novels and would certainly purchase a third if there is one.

An exciting journey!!

Mr. Biller has done an outstanding job. He builds the very nature of characters both biblical and fictional. He has a gift of holding the readers attention as well as captivating their interest. I believe, Mr. Biller, has produced a very timely work. I believe it makes the reader think about the direction the world is heading as well as making one consider there own position.
